Inelastic neutron scattering on a mixed-valence dodecanuclear polyoxovanadate cluster

Abstract: The magnetic exchange interactions in the mixed-valence dodecanuclear polyoxovanadate cluster compound (NHEt₃)₄[V₁₂As₈O₄₀(H₂O)]×H₂O were investigated by a detailed inelastic neutron scattering study using cold neutrons. The data show clear evidence for the presence of a magnetic anisotropy within the cluster. Exchange parameters are accurately determined.
