Comparison of the electron-phonon coupling strength of U³⁺ and Nd³⁺ in K₂LaCl₅

Abstract: The electron-phonon coupling strength of Nd³⁺ and U³⁺ in K₂LaCl₅ was investigated by performing temperature-dependent line-width measurements. It is shown that the electron-phonon coupling strength of the actinide is stronger than for the lanthanide. Parameters that can qualitatively explain this difference are discussed.
